Smells Like TeenSpirit o.0
Sarah, Jessica, Deanna, and I went to 'the mall' ... i.e. WalMart o.0 and did some basic shopping. All was good and well until Sarah spotted a 2-for-1 on a certain brand of deodorant. So we took a little detour and spent the next 10 minutes getting high on Lady SpeedStick o.0
HEY!! We live in Ephraim! Freaking Podunk, USA! We have to make our own entertainment around these parts!

My Article on the Demolition Derby :]
-Erica Rawley
Unfortunately, though I’ve never had the opportunity to kick a dead chicken, I’m going to take a shot in the dark and say that the Demolition Derby at the Sanpete County Fair this past Thursday was, in fact, a whole heck of a lot more fun than kicking dead foul. Actually, before Thursday I’d never had the opportunity to go to a Demolition Derby, either. Ah the joys living in a small town brings to your life!
It was quite an adventure just getting into the Derby. Jessica, my trusty photographer (and roommate), and I got to the Derby about half an hour before it was scheduled to start, but little did we know that 1. You needed a ticket to get in and 2. The tickets were sold out.
WOOHOO!
So I pulled the “I’m with the ‘paper’” card, batted my eyelashes and they let us in! I knew I loved small-town people for a reason.
Anyways, so the two announcers bantered back and forth about their awesomeness, the awesomeness of the rodeo royalty, and how much they were looking forward to the awesome destruction that was about to commence. Call me crazy but from what I gathered, I think they thought it was going to be pretty freaking awesome.
And then finally, after twenty years of waiting, the dilapidated cars bounced their way into the tire-encased dirt arena; engines growling, idling in some sort of special Derby arrangement, like cop dogs that wait ever so patiently for the command of their officer to let them loose to rip into the flesh of the perpetrator. And then their moment came; the announcers counted down from three and they were off! Flinging giant rooster tails of dirt and kicking up insane amounts of dust. I loved it! And after the first two or three cars flipped over and got stuck on the tires surrounding the arena, I got sidetracked by the people around me. The cute little snot that kept kicking me in the back, the munchkin and his little sister that played on the fence, and the cuties with their fun little light saber-jobs; I think I had more fun watching them enjoy themselves than watching the cars smash into each other like bumper cars on acid.
After one of the heats, the car that got the last smash jumped out of his car, ripped off his helmet, and dashed over to the fence to hug his baby girl. That was the best part of the night. Yes watching testosterone driven cars speed around crashing into each other is great fun, but when you really get down to it, being outside and spending time with your family and friends is really what it’s all about. In such a small, out of the way community such as Manti-Ephraim, good entertainment is hard to come by. But when everyone pulls together and makes fun out of seemingly mundane things, that’s when true fun is had and priceless memories are made.

Boys are DUMB!!! o.0
They (4 crazy guys) come a knockin' at our door and say that they are supposed to move in here. That they just checked in and were told to move their junk into C16. And then they proceeded to tell us that we moved into the wrong apartment! That they just got back from Iraq and had reserved this particular apartment over a year ago!
And we totally bought it!!!
So we invited them in for until they could get ahold of the night manager cuz we didn't want them outside all alone and cold and.. blah blah blah...
But they refuse a sit on our couch and leave.... and then the cute one.. the 'spokesman' if you will, of the group comes back not even one minute later and tells us that we were just punk'd!!!
They live in B10 (right across the freaking grass patch from us!!!) and they just wanted to tell us that they were single.

Boys are dumb
Case and point.

O Man!! o.0
Erica has decided to give 'manymuchmoosen' a makeover and fix it up to be a blog dedicated to updating our family and friends on our newfound college life here at Snow College.
This past week has been kind of crazy. Adjusting to new schedules, surroundings, roommates, football players, navigating our way through the vast *cough*not*cough* campus, so on and so forth.
Here are a few random pictures from this past week:
Jessica inside my federdekkan(sp) cover helping me put my comforter inside :P
Another angle... very dignified :P
We got henna tattoos! This is mine before I was able to take off the paste.
Here's one of Jessica's... hers is pretty freakin' sweet
Her other one... Jess is pretty much a die-hard Olympics fan :P
Here are here rings after we picked off the dried Henna paste.
And my hand after the same said picking...
...And Jess' leg...
You can see we had fun :P
Also... just so you know, I (Erica) am on the staff for Snow College's newspaper, the Snowdrift and I will be posting the articles that I write on here as well. Jessica (my trusty photographer) and I went to the SanPete County fair this evening and attended the Demolition Derby! It was a HOOT! So please stay tuned for that amazing article. [The articles have to be in by 10PM Saturday and the paper will be printed and ready for distribution on Wednesday... so I'll try and keep the blog to that schedule as well]
We love and miss all of you!!!

A Favor to Ask...
He took some pain meds for it.
Had an allergic reaction to it.
Now he looks like Will Smith in 'Hitch'... sans the happy-go-lucky.
So, I have a wee favor to ask...
Please include him in your prayers.
Coming from someone who knows what it's like to break multiple bones (including both feet) my heart breaks for him. I suppose it helps that he's my brother and I love him... but still
Regardless of family ties, please
please
please
please
please
please
Pray for him.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!
:]
Are you surprised that I'm happy?
heh... yeah... me, too XD
Also, yesterda I read 'Intensity' by Dean Koontz
O.O
o my freaking POO!!
The title isn't misleading... I recommend the book :]
So, along with this theme of 'Intensity', this past Sunday I was talking to my brother, Kenny, who said it is highly possible for him to be granted access to two (2) tickets to the premiere of 'Twilight'.
o.0
Have you control of your breathing yet?
Alrighty then...
1. He might not get them... but chances are good that he will get them.
2. No, he won't be giving them to me.
3. He will be going with his wife.
4. No, I do not know who I'd have to knock-off to get tickets for myself (or you, were you a cohort in said crime).
5. Don't ask me to harass him to give them to you... I'm already doing that for myself... unsuccessfuly...
6. No, he will not bring me home Kellan Lutz........ *grumbles* stupidgoodfornothingolderbrothers *grumbles*
Have a wonderful day

A Walk in the Park
I found out yesterday morning that I am being replaced.
I was quite an angered when I initially found out.
But now... not so much.
I actually feel great about it; I can't wait to leave!
Not that the job is/was anything bad; I mean, I get paid upwards of $13/hr. to answer a phone and read all day!!... Nothing to sneeze at.
But, I don't think I am meant to stay up here. I mean, of course I never thought I would work up here for the rest of my existance, but still.
I just feel that Heavenly Father wants something else for me.
I had prayed and prayed, and worked so hard to get up here, and I couldn't understand why Heavenly Father wouldn't just let me have what I wanted.
Now I do.
I had to learn some things.
About life
work
myself.
Now I understand.
I don't know why it has taken so long for this to hit home, but now I finally comprehend the act of letting Heavenly Father work through you; allowing His will to be done.
The things that I wanted were not bad. They just weren't meant for me.
And I pestered Him enough about it that He let me have them, even though these things were not what I was supposed to be doing.
I have no plan now.
I do not know where I am going to find another job.
I do not know where I am going to go to school.
Or how I will fund said schooling.
I do not know about alot of things. But of one thing my faith in and knowledge of will not waiver: Lose yourself in the service of God. He will never lead you astray. He will take you by the hand and guide you to where you need to be. And if you are doing what He wants with the right intent, he will guide your tongue so as to bear testimony to those who need to hear it.
I know this.
I trust in Him with all my heart.
I love Him.
And that is really all there is to it.

I am a Sinner
Here we go...
I got a letter from BYU yesterday
:]
My application was denied.
I have so many reasons, excuses, and gripes
but I thought about this more rationally today
it's alright
I don't need BYU
there are plenty of other schools out in this vast world
though I would still like to be a cougar.
I'm really confused right now. I don't know what to do, where to go, or how to begin to pick up the pieces of my shattered academic career.
This is hard for me; I've been working and praying and trying to find my way for the past 2+ years and I thought I had something. Come to find out that it was just thrown back in my face.
Feels great.
This has caused me to take a step back and assess myself.
Many a tear was shed last night, not just over the ill decision BYU made, but at other aspects of my life as well.
Mostly family stuff, dating stuff, work, school, money, church... all that wonderful jazz.
I'm feeling pretty sad right now.
Dumb
Lost
Inadequate
Like I've let down... well... pretty much everyone, mostly myself.
I want to make my parents proud, but I haven't given them anything to be proud of.
I'm 19 1/3 years old... I'm not in school. I work 8-5 M-F. I've been stood up on more dates than I've actually been out on. My social life is comparable to that of a rock.
I feel like running away to Mexico or something.
Just clear out my savings account and disappear.
I'll buy a toothbrush when I get there.

Pg. 495 harbors my favorite line out of the first 3 books:
'...How many ways can one heart be mangled and still be expected to keep beating?'
This song is the epitome of New Moon!!

The Cute Neuro-Psychology Major :]
It went really well!! Surprisingly enough!
I got many a compliment on it.
Also, I had a very nice, in-depth conversation with a very cute guy about neuro-psychology.
I wish to speak with him again... perhaps next week

Tuesday - Either Ecclesiastical Endorsement w/ my Stake President or Classic Skating with my Relief Society chix.
Wednesday - Ghost Hunters!!! :]
Thursday - PROVO TEMPLE!! Yay!! :D
Friday - Nothing.... yet
Saturday - Avery's 1st Birthday BASH!! ... @ Auntie's house, ofc ;]
Sunday - Speak with cute Neuro-Psychology Major again! :] ... that and visiting teaching
:]
I pray that my week at work will be just as nice as my after-work activities.
...wishful thinking :P
TAKE LUCK!

Ernest L. Wilkinson Center, Rm. 3224
No one is coming to see me, however.
Which I suppose is alright; I would probably just be more nervous were there actually family members there... judging me... along with all the other 160 people in my ward...also judging me.
Tyler Belnap came home from his mission (Mexico City, Mexico) this past Wednesday. His welcome home talk is also this Sunday... at the very same time I will be giving my not-so-grandoise talk.
My family will, however, be attending his welcome home.
I suppose it's better that way.
They haven't seen him in 2 years and they have to put up with me everyday.
Were I them, I ... no... nevermind... I would still want to hear me talk.
If anyone happens to read this before 1 o'clock Sunday morning... we meet in 3224 in the Wilkinson Center, BYU.
:]
Happy Saturday!

So Long, Farewell, Auf Weidersehen to the 'U'..
First:
I am sorry that I haven't written everyday on this blog like I said I would.
Second:
I did something today that I promised myself many years ago that I would NEVER do....
I applied to BYU.
:O
I 'officially' turned down my half tuition offer from the University of Utah and pushed the 'Submit' button on my application to Brigham Young University: Provo.
In 6-8 weeks we will see if I will get to bleed blue.
If I get 'Rejected' (like so often happens..... thanx eHarmony!!) then I will go and bleed green.
Today I also discovered that I am still enrolled at UVSC (soon to be UVU).
I found this out only because I needed to obtain a transcript from the one concurrent enrollment class I took waaaaay back in August of '05.
So yeah..... hopefully by May we will know if this Wolverine/Ute will morph into a Cougar.
WISH ME LUCK!!!
:]
*Prayers wouldn't hurt, too..... I reckon :] *

Brave, Brave Sir Douglas, Brave Sir Douglas Ran Away!!!
Today the world was set right!!!
At about 10 to 4 this fine afternoon the valiant Knight of the Geek Squad, Sir Doug galliantly (galiantly.. gal-yant-lee) rode into my office and fixed my computer!!!
And.... in record time, I might add.
A whopping 10 minutes for Sir Doug to destroy the beast that took 5 other not-so-galliant squires 3 weeks to slay!
Also, in those mere 10 minutes Sir Doug hooke up my printer!
And brave Sir Douglas ran away!!!

HAPPY 8 DAY!!! :]
Today is a magic day!!!
3 + 5 = 8
3/5/08
YAY!!!
So... it just dawned on me that this will be kind of like my journal... sans all the really personal stuffs.
o.0
What?!
You can't expect me to dish on everything!!
I still need to maintain a healthy dose of mystery in my life. :P
Alright, let's get to my day.
My computer had about 20 million viruses on it last month.
Erica called IT... they re-did my computer that very same day. But it took them 3 weeks to hook my printer back up.
o.0
YAY for proficiency!!
Anyways, so since last week my computer has been running smoothly.
No more horrific pop-ups advertising adult sites.
No more junk
Nothing
We are clean
Life is good.
Or so it was up until this morning o.0
I pushed the pretty grey Zeus button... 20 minutes later my computer kicked on.
Red flag #1
*Note, I call its a 'Zeus button' because Zac Power used to sign his name as a circle with a vertical line sticking out of the top. Zac's nickname was Zeus and everytime I see that symbol, methinks of him.
...Also Lucky Charms. :] *
After that it took another 10 for Outlook to open.
Red flag #2
Then the McAfee virus scan thing popped up and started listing 50 million more viruses that it had found on my computer and deleted.
Red flag #3
So, I pick up my phone and call IT.
Luckily a new person answered the phone.
Well... I don't know if she was 'new' par say... but it was a lady person & I had spoken to pretty much every male IT had to offer.
I'm sure they're sick of me.
:]
So I tell the lady the scoop; what's going on with my computer along w/ a brief yet detailed explanation as to why it is not I who is guilty of perusing through the adult sites.
She files a 'Trouble Ticket' and tells me she will send a guy down to fix my computer.
that was at 8:30 this morning.
[It is 7:34 as I type this from the luxury of my dad's la-z boy and a Geek Squad representative has yet to pike around my office and make the world right.]
So, I log onto Melissa's 2nd computer (yes, she has 2... two offices, two computers... idn't she sumthin'??) so that I can atleast have Outlook open incase someone decides to email me.
I check my mail.
Create this blog page.
Melissa enters the scene.
M- Why are you on my computer? Is yours not working?
E- It died again.
M- Died? o.0
E- As in... 5 billion viruses have reinhabited my computer.
M- Again?!
E- Don't worry, I've called IT and they're sending a guy down to fix it *this was a little after 9, mind you*
M- Erica...you know that our department has bee cited because of excessive viruses, righ? AND that the department is now having to pay to get this cleaned up?
E- Huh? Because of some doof who plays on that computer?
M- Erica, you can tell me... do you go to any 'Adult sites'?
E- What?! NO!!!
M- Do you use any mesenger programs...like MSN?
E- No. *Fact: I HAD msn but ~ 2 months ago I took it off. Ask anyone... I'm rarely on anymore... unless it's 11 o'clock at night. Phill, Sam, and Alex can vouch for that*
M- Well... the guy who fixed the computer last says that the only way those kinds of viruses could get on is if someone visited certain sites. Do you go to any bad sites?
E- No. I just go to Office Max, Facebook, Blogger, and Yahoo to check my mail.
M- Sure *walks out*
E- makes mental note to self *Do NOT do anything but go to Office Max and Hosp. Admin. for check requests!*
So apparantly... according to Melissa... I am an internet whore who likes to destroy computers and make people pay massive amounts of $$ out the nose just for kicks.
Yeah... way to make someone feel great about themselves.
=)
Woot!
A one Captain Stephernie Ryn made the comment about how she would absolutely LOVE it if Erica had her own newspaper or magazine; something she could reference daily.
Well... my magazine days have since passed (yay Argus!!! ^^)
So now you will be graced with my makeshift newspaper!
I'm not 100% on what I should entitle it... so if you have any suggestions, they would be much appreciated.
:]
*post script*
Also, methinks I should have a pen name o.0
Suggestions for that would also be much obliged.
:)
